A request from the Green Party in Lambeth (particularly for Queen fans!)
Hi all,
Next Monday (5th March) at 10am former Queen guitarist Brian May will
join Caroline Lucas and our Mayoral candidate Jenny Jones in Battersea Park
to launch our animal manifesto.
We'd like some local Lambeth Green children to dress up as animals to
be included in the photo. I understand that this might be difficult
for children of school age but if anyone is free and could bring their
child that would be great.
We can compensate for travel, will make sure there's fruit and juice and
can even provide costumes if needed. We're trying to arrange a face painter
too. It shouldn't take more than half an hour.
If you're interested, please phone me on 07825511927.
Thanks!
Joe Williams,
Lambeth Greens,
Mayoral Election Press Officer.

Ruby Rhymes rocks!
Last Tuesday we checked out Ruby Rhymes.
From the minute Ruby starts her Tingaling welcome song you can't help smiling and swaying and my friend's little one danced about for the whole session. The group was big when we went which could be overwhelming for little ones but this just highlights how fun and popular this group is.
The Brixton sessions are £5 per family and £3 for unwaged families. and at 10.30am on Tuesdays so they do coincide with Brixton library storytime but the best things are the space, funky catchy tunes and Ruby's enthusiasm. I was also impressed how she remembered so many of the kids' names too. I'll be reviewing Ruby's CD soon which I'm sure we'll be bopping along to as soon as we press play!
There are many Ruby Rhymes sessions across Lambeth. They all start at 10.30am and last 50 minutes, including an organic juice and rice cake/biccy break.
No enrolment, just turn up and join in!

Jumping, climbing, bouncing babies!
This morning I checked out Gymboree in Herne Hill (well, that's more or less Lambeth...?) with junior, unfortunately Level 4 was a little advanced for him (it is definitely for walkers/runners and he's mostly a speedy crawler) but there was certainly plenty going on. Lovely clean climbing frames at a perfect height for little ones, the activities changed every 5 mins or so and there was a great range of music, action, bubbles, climbing, ball and parachute play. We'll be checking out Level 3 on Monday so I'll report more on that then.
As Milo is a most musical man (he even dances to the news jingle on LBC radio) I will be checking out more musical classes ....
Next week I will check out Ruby Rhymes which is only £5 and now on Tuesday mornings at 10.30 at Trinity Congregational Church on St. Matthews Road, Brixton but it is going head-to-head with Brixton Library Storytime which is free so we shall see which will be our Tuesday morning favourite!!
Also I will try and head to Monkey Music in Herne Hill at Herne Hill Baptist Church, Half Moon Lane SE249HU on Thursday morning, I've heard good things about it. It's also on at St Luke's Church, Norwood High St SE270HS in West Norwood on a Monday afternoon.
